Royal Ascot

This event has a strictly enforced dress code.

Royal Enclosure

Gentlemen are required to wear black or grey morning dress with a grey top hat. Service dress may be worn. Overseas visitors may wear the national dress of their country. Anyone not complying with the dress code will be asked to leave the Royal Enclosure.

Private Box

Any box holder who has a Royal Enclosure badge should dress according to the Royal Enclosure code. Those who are not badge-holders should wear morning dress or a suit and tie.

Grandstand

Gentlemen should wear jacket or suit and tie.

Other Ascot Race Meetings

Gentlemen should dress smartly, wearing suit or jacket and tie.

Black lace up shoes, worn with matching silk or cotton black socks should always be worn with morning dress.
