Here at Special Day Weddings we pride ourselves on our relaxed and friendly approach, and we understand that you want as much information as possible about how to choose your gown..  Here are a few answers to some of the questions you may find yourself asking.  We look forward to welcoming you to our store and to guide you through our gowns to find 'your dress'
 

Q. Do I need an appointment to try on gowns?                                            
A.  It is not always necessary, but on Saturdays in particular, it is more comfortable for our brides to have a little time set aside just for them to try on gowns. But please call in to browse any time and will be very happy to show you our range.

Q. Do you have a large selection?
A.  We have an extensive range of bridal gowns in stock for you to view, and a large selection of co-ordinating bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. 

Q. Can I bring family and friends when I try on gowns?
A. Choosing your wedding gown is one of the most important decisions you will make and it is only natural that you will want help and advise from your family and friends.  However, from experience, we have found it is easier when you bring one or two close friends or family who's opinion you trust to assist in making your choice.

Q. Can I choose my bridesmaids dresses the same day as my bridal gown?
A. No problem but you will find it easier to choose your gown first and then co-ordinate your bridesmaid's dresses around this.  Why not view our large selection of bridesmaid's dresses before you bring them into the store.

Q. How much notice do you need to order my gown?
A. Each designer and supplier varies, but most like to have around 24 weeks to make and deliver your gown.  However, do not worry if you have less time than this, as our suppliers will do all they can to ensure you get the gown of your choice, and many are available on a rush order basis of 6-8 weeks for an additional charge.

Q. How much deposit do I need to pay?
A. When you have chosen your dream dress, we ask for a 50% deposit.  The dress is then ordered and the balance is paid when the gown arrives in store.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?
A. We accept all major debit and credit cards, cheques, and cash.

Q. What if my dress needs alterations?
A. This is no problem, we have and excellent seamstresses who is an expert in their field and can do all the alterations you may need. (There is a cost to the alterations in addition to the dress cost. Charges vary according to the amount of work needed, but are very reasonable)

Q. What sizes are your gowns available in?
A. All our dresses are available in sizes 8 to 30, with some being available up to a size 38 and also on a made to measure basis.

Q. My wedding is only a few weeks away, do you have any gowns in stock?
A. Yes, we have a selection of gowns available in a range of sizes to buy from stock
